Single Board Computers (SBC)

ODROID-XU4  Quad Core 2GHz, 2GB RAM, USB 3.0, Gigabit

Of all of the SBC’s I own this is my personal favorite.

2GB RAM

USB 3.0

Up to 64 Gigs for eMMC

Use Android, or Ubuntu Linux operating system.

You must flash your MicroSD or eMMC card with either OS. Use this reference site.  https://forum.odroid.com

You could use a microSD card to store the OS and files but I strongly recommend using a eMMC card because after using a microSD for my main OS I found that the eMMC does in fact operate faster.

I recommend purchasing the eMMC card and Card Writer along with your XU4

The fan does not bother me although I have heard that the fan does bother others.  Hardkernel does make another version of the XU4 called the XU4Q that uses a heat sink rather than a fan.  The XU4Q (heat sink one) is great but keep in mind the fan XU4 does in fact operate slightly faster.
